sieben Monate

Monday, January 28th marks 7 months of my living in Europe (5 in Berlin, since I was traveling around for 2). Time flies by when you're having an adventure. Yes, yes, I've mentioned adventure already, several times already. Well, it's great to be here, I feel completely at home in Europe, and Berlin.

The snow has been coming down, and I love it. Growing up on the west coast, I would see snow, I would have a winter - but the snow wouldn't stick and the winter wasn't up to the typical standard of what the rest of the world assumes Canadians are used to, leaving the people of the west coast to be total wusses. Ya, that's right, WUSSES!

Vat ist dis WUSS you say?

"Oh, but you're from Canada so you must be used to this weather!", and then I reply, "Sort of, not exactly, kind of, sure...". My time briefly spent in Kraków, before returning to Berlin, helped thicken my blood. It was A LOT colder there!

This weather is also good for hibernation, and I've been busy with writing. Wood-shedding has to happen for artists, and what time could be better then right now - with the falling snow to watch outside your window?

I'm grateful for my snow boots :)

I took part in a Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School Berlin event on Sunday, January 27th, 2013. It was a "Pillow Session" involving four models, myself being one of them, and it's safe to say we all had a fantastic time!

Behind the scenes photo c/o Betty's phone!
I had a blast with Bana Banana, Betty Dynamite, and Valentina Demonia, and the Dr. Sketchy Berlin's organizers, LaLa Vox and Matthias!

Here is the Facebook photo album of some of the drawings that were captured for us to remember the wonderful creativity that took place: "The Pillow Session - Your Drawings!"

A promotional video, I acted in for TC Helicon, premiered last week. Check it out!

An artist I modeled for back during the end of the summer, Craig Mussman, has an exhibit happening here in Berlin. The show opens on Friday, February 2nd, 2013.

Happy 2013!!!

A quick blog as the year turns anew:

2012 was quite eventful for me, but I am really looking forward to 2013. Life is always interesting when an accordion is leading the way...

What I take with me from 2012 is the memory of my incredible friend that passed away this year, Douwe. He was an amazing person, and I find inspiration with remembering all that he was. The sky is shining brighter down on us because of him.

I will remember the moment in which I met the great Canadian children's entertainer Mr. Fred Penner, who then asked me to perform with him on stage. Oh... how my heart melts when I look at these photos of the moment we said "Hello".

Having to say good bye to all my friends, family and loved ones as I embarked on a move across the Atlantic Ocean was very hard, and now I am making more friends here and spreading my wings in a new world. Getting to know Europe, and finding out that I'm pretty good at traveling, and that I feel "at home" here confirms what I had been sensing for many years.

Having the love and support from them all means the world to me. They should be happy to know that my being here is feeding my creative soul and is pushing my desires forward - which I so desperately needed for myself :)

Getting to see so many incredible cities and countries, and performances, music, art; soaking it allllll up! Wow!

Sigh.... :)

So here's to a New Year!
Wishing you all love, health, happiness and bliss, and to do it all fearlessly and fabulously!

With love, from Berlin :)
